Aloha Easter Bunny!

Drumroll please.....

I figured we needed a big entrance since it has been so long since I've updated this blog. However, that wasn't exactly the spectacular drumroll I was looking for. Oh well. We have been extremely busy this past month, both with work and with play. My real estate transactions have been keeping me on my toes with 3 escrows closing within days of eachother, and two others opening right as those were closing. When it rains it pours. Luckily, it wasn't pouring over in Hawaii where we met Nana and Papa for a week to celebrate our anniversary. We had a very nice time on the south shore of Kauai, right outside of Poipu. There were a few little beaches that had natural barriers keeping the waves out so Tyler was able to get in the water and not get knocked around. His favorite thing at the beach is getting in the hole that I dig to try and make him sandcastles. His second favorite thing is to completely demolish the sandcastles that I make him from the sand in the hole. It's a vicious cycle that repeats itself for about 20 minutes until I get exhausted.

Peek-a-boo! I see Tyler's toes sticking up out of the sand!
3rd favorite thing to do in Hawaii - drive the golf cart! Vrrooooom! It helps if you can see over the wheel. Little details....
I'll take this shovel, see? And dig for buried treasure. And in the meantime, you, Nana, can make me sand castles that I can destroy and then you can bury my feet in the sand. And then...
Swingin' at the Hyatt's beach with Mama and
chillin' out with Daddy, too.

Of course, the second we got home Tyler pulled "Nana" out of thin air and added it to his vocabulary, repeating it over and over. (Note to T: this would have earned you many, many extra toys if said in the presence of Nana in Hawaii. Timing is everything in this life, bub.) And, speaking of timing, if I had gotten to the lazy susan a few seconds before Tyler did, I would have been able to close the door and 86 some serious fun he had pulling every spice, colored sugar, jelly jar, etc., out and onto the floor. Live and learn.

Oh, the possibilities! I'll take sprinkles and vanilla and garlic and yellow food coloring and strawberry jelly and honey and olive oil and cornstarch!

What? I'm innocent, I swear.

Finally, these photos are really late but the Easter Bunny did in fact visit Tyler. Here he is showing off the dump truck the bunny left in his basket. We went on a mammoth Easter Egg hunt around the house. Who knew it was going to be so much fun to find eggs hidden in plain sight? We enjoyed it so much, we've done it about a dozen times since and I'm not going to put the eggs away any time soon since that is our fall back fun-time activity. We even did one in Hawaii!

Who cares about chocolate when there are trucks involved?

I won't sit still with my basket for a nice picture in front of the flowers. This is the best you're gettin', Mom.

Finally, Tyler and his buddies Ty and Brogan went to the aquarium a few weeks back. I just love this photo of the three of them. So sweet and innocent. Once they got down from this platform, they commenced their running through the place like crazed monkeys.
